Moodboard
When I first met Kendra I was struck with a) how talented and versatile she was as a musician and b) her ability to be serious without taking herself too seriously. So, for the overall mood of her video, I decided to juxtapose the somber laments in the song with kitschy and surreal “freakebana” floral arrangements, bright colors and wardrobe that aimed for pops of texture and volume.
Storyboard
As with most of my projects, I created a moving storyboard to help guide the production team and allow them some insight into my creative brain. Because Kendra was working on the choreography for the piece, it also helped to sort out how that would all fit together.
